    Alan Gould Chief Executive Officer

    Prior to leading uSamp, Alan founded IAG Research and built the company into the leading provider of engagement metrics in the television industry. He served as its co-CEO until the company was acquired by Nielsen for $250 million. As Co-CEO, Alan was involved in all aspects of IAG’s product development, sales and ongoing financing. Following the company’s merger with Nielsen, Alan then created and served as CEO of Advertiser Solutions, a business unit of The Nielsen Company that provides end-to-end marketing solutions to large and global advertisers.

    Alan is a venture partner with Greycroft Partners, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of AppAnnie, having previously served on the boards of Harris Interactive, CrowdComputing, READ Alliance, Netsertive and VIZU. Alan is a graduate of the New York University School of Law (J.D.), Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government (M.P.P.), and the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service (B.S.F.S.).

    John Woolard Chief Financial Officer

    John Woolard is a CPA with more than 20 years of diverse financial leadership experience in entertainment, retail, manufacturing and distribution, including positions as CFO, VP of finance, and controllership. Before taking over as uSamp’s CFO, he led finance teams in the U.K., the Netherlands and the Middle East. John has a proven ability to manage and optimize financial results within rapidly changing environments. He possesses an extensive background in strategic planning, financial reporting, treasury operations and internal controls and has solid relationships in the investor and lending communities. John earned a degree in accounting and finance from California State University, Northridge.

    Carl Trudel Chief Technical Officer

    With over 18 years of experience leading high-performing teams, Carl brings sharp leadership, tech genius and global perspective to uSamp. Hailing from Quebec, Carl built his career stateside leading engineering teams for SaaS and consumer solutions utilized all over the world. Carl has held prominent posts as the CTO at social commerce platform, BeachMint; SVP of software development for Live Nation; VP of technology for Ticketmaster; and director of software development for Oracle-acquired talent management platform, Taleo. His degrees are in Mechanical, Industrial and Software Engineering from Université Laval.

    Edan Portaro EVP Global Business Development & Mobile Innovation

    A seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in sales and business development, Edan Portaro came to uSamp after spending several years as a consultant focused on the development of sales channels and go-to-market strategies for a variety of small-to-medium, VC funded and early-stage companies. Prior to consulting, he worked as senior vice president of Sales at Monster Worldwide and YellowPages.com, where he was recognized for his role in retooling the existing products and sales channels to help position the companies for future growth. Edan went to California State University, Northridge, graduating with a BA in liberal studies.

    Ted Bouzakis EVP, North American Sales

    Combining over 20 years of sales and management experience, Ted Bouzakis is determined to lead the expansion of uSamp’s diverse client base while serving as the leader of uSamp’s North American sales operations. This should come as no surprise given his résumé. Prior to joining uSamp in 2012, Bouzakis served as an account executive in the financial services vertical at EMC, a Fortune 500 global leader in cloud, big data and trusted IT. Before that, he was vice president of sales for the Major Accounts Division at ADP. Although he held several executive roles over his 12 years at ADP, he’ll never forget how he jumpstarted his market research career as the director of sales at Greenfield Online. Ted holds a degree in marketing from Bentley University.

    Andy Jolls Chief Marketing Officer

    Andy Jolls has more than 20 years of experience in both mature and high-growth companies. Prior to his last company, Zumbox, Andy served as chief marketing officer at Cooking.com (acquired by Target Corp.) and has held senior level marketing positions at MyFICO.com, a division of FICO, (NYSE: FICO) and Move, Inc. (NASDAQ: MOVE). Trained in product management at Apple and Hewlett Packard early in his career, Andy started out conducting qualitative market research for Technomic, Inc. He also serves as an adviser for early-stage startups and runs his own lifestyle blog. Andy has a Master’s degree in management, marketing, finance and organizational behavior from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan.

    Justin Wheeler VP Product Innovation & Business Development

    Justin is entering his 15th year in the SaaS space, having helped to build and manage DIY business service and marketing platforms at Overture/Yahoo!, Perfect Market Technologies and Spot Runner. Since joining uSamp, he has managed the Instant.ly Platform, providing Online and Mobile insights to over 40,000 clients in only 18 months of operation. The industry-rattling platform that empowers anyone to conduct self-directed, primary research and enables businesses to turn social dialogue into quantifiable, constructive information is a natural fit for Justin. Justin is an alumnus of California State University, Los Angeles.

    Elisabeth Mischel Vice President for Instant.ly

    Elisabeth Mischel joined uSamp as vice president for the Instant.ly Platform, bringing with her more than 15 years of client development experience at blue chip and venture-backed firms. Prior to uSamp, Mischel served as senior vice president for business development at Nielsen Catalina Solutions (NCS), a joint venture between The Nielsen Company and Catalina Marketing. While there, she worked with large consumer packaged goods brands, including Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s, Kraft and Unilever. Elisabeth joined The Nielsen Company through its acquisition of IAG Research, where she drove industry adoption of emerging ad effectiveness data that helped lead to the company’s eventual sale. Elisabeth is a graduate of Cornell University with a BS in industrial and labor relations and an MBA from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business.

    Karyn Hall Vice President for Instant.ly

    Before joining uSamp, Karyn worked as director of consumer insight and strategy at Kraft Foods Inc. in the beverages division. There, she oversaw the creation of consumer and shopper insights for the $1billion + Kraft Coffee portfolio, which includes Maxwell House and Gevalia. During Karyn’s extensive 12-year career with Kraft, she also worked on other iconic brands such as Kool-Aid, Country Time, Starbucks and Post Cereal. She launched over 20 new products and developed the insight that led to the highly successful Mio beverage launch. Karyn came to Kraft from ACNielsen after four years on the client service side where she worked on the Post Cereal businesses. Karyn graduated with honors from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.

    Ben Leet Managing Director, Europe

    Ben Leet has been in the research industry for over a decade and recalls sending surveys via fax machine with a certain nostalgic fondness before watching the world dramatically change over the past 10 years.Ben has always had business development close to his heart, and has combined that commercial acumen with his natural leadership abilities to build new sales channels at several companies, including Decision Tree Consulting and Toluna, before being part of the seed team that founded uSamp Europe in January 2011. Since then,Ben has been instrumental in building uSamp’s footprint in Europe, and he now combines his market research experience with his sales and leadership skills to oversee uSamp’sEuropean operations. Ben is a graduate of the Nottingham Business School with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Hons) in European business.

    Sean Moriarty former President and Chief Executive Officer, Ticketmaster

    Sean Moriarty is the CEO of Saatchi Art, the world’s leading online art gallery. Previously, he was the President and CEO of Ticketmaster, the market leader in live entertainment ticketing and one of the largest ecommerce sites in the world. Prior to Ticketmaster, Sean was part of the technology team at Citysearch, where his roles included executive vice president of technology and vice president of Internet systems. In addition to serving on the Board of USamp, Sean currently serves as Board Chairman for both TritonDigital and Metacloud as well as a board member at Eventbrite and TuneIn. He is actively involved with two prominent non-profit organizations: CoachArt.org and the Pat Tillman Foundation. Sean holds a BA from the University of South Carolina and attended graduate school at Boston University and the University of South Carolina.

    Adam Marcus Managing Director, OpenView Partners

    Adam Marcus is managing director at OpenView Partners, where he focuses on investing in and building companies in several sectors, including software, digital media and technology-enabled businesses. Prior to joining OpenView, Adam worked at Battery Ventures focusing on investments in software and e-commerce . At Battery, Adam was on the board of J. Hilburn and MoreMagic, a board observer at Exact Target and The NewsMarket, and was actively involved with Cortera. Prior to Battery, Adam was director of corporate development for The Boston Celtics, where he led strategic initiatives for the team. Adam holds a BA in psychology and Spanish from Franklin and Marshall College and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

    David Cremin Managing Director, DFJ Frontier

    David Cremin is a founder and managing partner of DFJ Frontier, a venture capital fund focused on early-stage media and technology companies. At Frontier, he leads fund management, fundraising and portfolio management efforts. Prior to Frontier, he was a founding partner of Zone Ventures in Los Angeles. Other investments include DivX (NASDAQ: DIVX), Clear Access (Cisco), Big Frame (DreamWorks), MomentFeed and Janrain. As an entrepreneur, he served as founder and CEO of Vis-à-Vis Entertainment, a music publishing and digital media company. He also spent several years touring as a professional musician and recording for RCA Records, Atlantic Records, Elektra Records and EastWest Records. He holds a BS in industrial engineering from Stanford University.

    Dana Settle Founding Partner, Greycroft Partners

    Dana Settle is a Founding Partner with Greycroft, and she heads the firm’s west coast office out of Los Angeles. Prior to Greycroft, Dana spent several years as a venture capitalist and adviser to startup companies in the Bay Area, including six years at Mayfield, where she focused on early stage companies in the mobile communications and consumer Internet markets. Dana currently serves or observes on the boards of Greycroft’s investments in AppAnnie, FanTV, GameSalad, Joyent, SaatchiArt, Steelhouse, TrunkClub, TheRealReal, TheRealRealJapan, uSamp, WhoWhatWear and WideOrbit. She also managed the firm’s investments in Maker Studios (sold to Disney), Viddy (sold to FullScreen), AwesomenessTV (sold to Dreamworks), Digisynd (sold to Disney), ContentNext (sold to Guardian Media), MoVoxx (sold to Motricity), Pulse (sold to LinkedIn), Sometrics (sold to American Express) and Sportgenic (sold to Glam). Dana’s additional experience includes business development at Truveo (AOL), investment banking at Lehman Brothers and international business development at McCaw Cellular Communications (AT&T). Dana holds a BA in finance and international studies from the University of Washington and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
